Group Rates
Graylag is the perfect place for family reunions and small business retreats. Rent multiple cabins or the entire property. Group rates apply. Call for details.
Rental Period
Our normal rental period is by the full week. Check-in is 3 p.m. on Sunday, and check-out is 11 a.m. the following Sunday. Depending on availability, especially in the off-season, we are able to accept Saturday-to-Saturday reservations or partial weeks. If you are interested in such arrangements, please ask.
Making Your Reservation
A deposit of 50% of the rental rate will confirm your reservation. Deposits are payable
by credit card through PayPal or, if you prefer, by check in U.S. funds. We will hold
your reservation for up to 7 days in order to receive your deposit (if paid by check) -
payments made by credit card are immediately confirmed. We will send you a confirmation
and invoice when we receive your check or credit card payment. Note: The balance of your
payment is due 21 days before your rental begins. If you make a reservation less than 21
days before your arrival, payment in full is required with the reservation.
In Case of Cancellation
If you need to cancel your reservation after confirmation, please let us know as soon as possible, and we will try to re-rent your cabin. If we are able to re-rent it, we will refund your deposit (or full payment, if applicable) when the re-rental is confirmed. If we are not able to re-rent your cabin, we will refund one-half of your deposit (or full payment, if applicable) on the day that your rental would have begun.
Pets
We are sorry that we cannot allow pets at Graylag. If you would like recommendations about nearby boarding kennels, please ask.
Smoking and Fire Safety
All Graylag buildings are nonsmoking environments. Because fire safety is a primary concern, if you do wish to smoke out-of-doors, please make sure that all smoking materials are fully extinguished and placed in a trash receptacle when you are finished. You are welcome to make a campfire at the fire pit adjacent to the waterfront -- for the safety of all, campfires are not allowed at any other location (each cabin has its own grill for barbequing). The Birches Family Lodge is equipped with a woodstove, which you may use on the condition that we give you a safety demonstration before you do so.
Waterfront Safety
Our private waterfront is here for your enjoyment. We have a beach area, dock, float, two canoes, four kayaks, a sailboat, paddles, and lifejackets. You are responsible for your own safety - all swimming and boating activities are at your own risk. N.H. state law requires the use of lifejackets while boating. Please supervise children when at the waterfront.
Hiking Safety
Our trails are well marked, but it is still advisable for you to let us familiarize you with the different paths and terrain. For general safety it is not advisable to hike alone in the woods. A hiking map of the trails is available here on our website and additionally a copy will be in your cabin when you arrive.
Garden Etiquette
We are avid gardeners and have carefully nurtured areas of beautiful native plants at various points on the property, including the bog garden near the waterfront. Because these wild plants are fragile, and because we harvest the seeds for new plantings, we ask you not to walk in these gardens or pick any of their contents. Wild blueberries grow at various locations on the property, and you are welcome to pick them in season.
